Michael Nortman, Principal
Michael has developed, as a principal, from ground up over 1,000,000 SF commercial developments. In addition, Mr. Nortman was responsible for the acquisition, disposition and coordination of over 2,000 multi-family units valued at more than $200 million. He has been involved directly with over $2 billion of commercial real estate projects in his career and is Principal/Founder of Crossroads Development Partners. Michael was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1997. In addition to being an attorney, he is a licensed Real Estate Broker and a member of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
Kirsten Helma, Chief Operating Officer
Kirsten has administered the servicing, credit and workout of over $2B in commercial real estate, primarily construction and value-add projects, in her 15+ year banking/financial services career. She has also developed specialized servicing platforms, departments, and polies and procedures as business needs warranted. In her most recent role as Vice President, Manager of Real Estate Dispositions for MB Financial Bank, Ms. Helma directed the day-to-day operations (sales, property and construction management and leasing of more than $350MM of real estate) of the bank's Other Real Estate portfolio, which consisted of residential and commercial land development, multi-family, fractured condominium projects, office, retail, industrial, and hotel assets. Additionally, she was responsible for managing compliance for the group and all regulatory audits related to Other Real Estate.
Wes Rehwoldt, Director of Management and Operations
Wes has directed the management/operations services of over 2.2 million square feet of commercial space in the greater Chicago land. His experience includes office and retail projects, indoor sports facilities, and rehabilitation center construction and renovation. His involvement in these projects have spanned from the day-to-day operations and maintenance to leasing and management. Currently managing both our own portfolio of suburban Chicago properties, as well as income properties owned by private investors, banks, insurance companies and pension funds, he has established a strong track record of meeting revenue, operating and marketing objectives. Wes holds a Stationary Engineers license for the City of Chicago.
Heather Smith, Senior Property Manager
Heather has been in the real estate industry for over 13 years in various aspects of managing office, retail, and mixed-use properties. Her experience ranges from the daily operations of multi-tenanted buildings including contract and construction administration to special event coordination. Her successful vendor and tenant relations provide increased communication to ensure Landlord and tenant obligations are achieved as well as optimal results of project management. Heather is a current member of and serves on the Education Committee for the Suburban Chicago chapter of Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA). Heather achieved the Real Property Administrator (RPA) designation in 2007 and holds a Notary Public certification.
Joan Krueger, Property Manager/Accounting
Joan has more than 30 years experience in property management and accounting. She has been involved with office buildings and retail centers in downtown Chicago and suburbs. She is responsible for all aspects of record organization and accounting, and is responsible for the creation of property specific budgets and financial reporting. Additionally, she has direct communication with owners and tenants, and day to day employee supervision.
Jason Karns, Property Accountant
Jason has over 6 year experience in accounting within the real estate industry. He has experience with a wide range of proerties types such as apartment complexes, multi-million dollar annual revenue retail strip centers, mixed used properties, and a shopping mall with 100 plus tenants. In addition handling the day-to-day accounting activities for these properties, Jason also has experience with complex CAM and RET reconciliations and is experienced in Yardi Property Management Software.
